***NEW***   For a $25 fee I can now microchip your puppy when it leaves! Please let me know if you would like us to do this.  Most vets charge $40 and up to microchip your puppy.  Microchipping is crutial to prove ownership of your dog in the event they are lost or stolen.

In order to reserve a specific puppy or a place to choose a puppy from a specific litter I require a non-refundable $200 deposit. Depositors choose their puppy in order of deposit received or put it towards a specific puppy in the litter. If you are wanting a specific coat type or eye color and want to send a deposit please know that those features continue to develop even after the puppy leaves us.

Adult coat type/color and eye color is NOT guaranteed only estimated.

A US Postal money order must be made out and sent to:

Melisa Smith PO 782 Saluda NC 28773, along with the money order from the Post Office, we need you to include your name, address, phone, email address, 2 airport choices if possible and what the deposit is for on a separate sheet of paper: Breed, sex, color, etc.

Mail the deposit priority tracking from the Post Office! The tracking number lets me know you mailed it and the tracking number lets you know it was put into my locked post office box!

I can no longer take cashiers checks, personal checks, or credit card checks. We will only accept a MONEY ORDER from the POST OFFICE.  A  money order from the Post Office is less than $1.  The Post Office will take debit cards and cash for money orders.

I am unable to take credit cards, however Western Union does. You can call 1-800–CALL-CASH and they will process the transaction right over the phone using any major credit card. The payment is instant, no waiting, no worrying about it getting lost in the mail. You can also use Walmart’s Money Gram service at your local Walmart.  I only encourage this method if you want to use a credit card or if the puppy is ready to go and you want to get it that week.

SENDING THE BALANCE for puppies being shipped:

For Puppies being shipped: If puppy is being shipped, FULL PAYMENT IS EXPECTED WHEN PUPPY IS 6 wks, it is your responsibility to make sure the payment is here, I will tell you when you make your deposit when the 6 wk deadline is.   ALL MONEY ORDERS SHOULD BE SENT  PRIORITY MAIL, OR FED EX SO THAT IT CAN BE TRACKED AND SHOWN IT MADE IT HERE.

Due to the amount of depositors that are having their puppy shipped not getting the balance to me by the time the puppy is 6 wks old.  I am adding a change to our deposit/shipping/payment policy:

Repeat The balance must be here by the time the puppy is 6 wks old so they can be shipped at 8 wks (for a puppy being shipped).

If the balance is not here by the time the puppy is 6 wks old there will be an added fee of $50 to be paid with the remaining balance in order to get the puppy. The reason behind these fee’s is that this puts a strain on the schedule that we have lined up to ship the puppy with it’s siblings and/or the puppy needs get greater. The $50 fee will cover our time, and expenses in keeping your puppy for another week. This is a fraction of what a boarding kennel would charge and would possibly include more dewormings, and a vaccination as well.

The above $50 fee is in addition to the purchase price and the shipping price.

If the fee is not paid and the balance sent by the time the puppy is 8 wks old (for those being shipped) the depositor looses 100% of any money paid and gets no credit for a future puppy. The puppy will then be sold to someone else.

Basically this is due to a couple of customers sending a deposit to hold a puppy and not sending the balance as required. One depositor waited until the puppy was almost 11 wks old before sending the balance. The other depositor backed out of the sale due to finances when the puppy was 9 wks old.

If you find you are unable to pay the balance and the puppy is 5 wks or younger. Contact me and the deposit can be put towards another puppy at another time within the calendar year.

Please note what ever money you send towards the purchase of the puppy is NON-refundable.

For puppies being picked up here: If puppy is being picked up here balance is due in CASH on day of pick up.

NEW POLICY for puppies being picked up:

I realize due to unforeseen events happening in people’s personal lives that things happen that make a family unable to get the puppy they have placed a deposit on.  Any money sent towards the purchase of your puppy is non-refundable.

If you are unable to get your puppy at 7 wks I will hold your puppy until 8 or 9 wks if the puppy is paid for in full plus a $50 boarding fee paid for each week it stays (till 9 wks). This must be discussed on a per case basis.  If your puppy is not picked up by 9 wks of age, any monies sent for that puppy are non-refundable and the puppy will be rehomed with someone else. Any money paid towards that puppy are non-refundable.

Basically this is due to a couple of customers sending a deposit to hold a puppy and not picking their puppy up as scheduled and the weeks pass by with them still not being able to pay the balance and/or pick up the puppy.

SALES CONTRACT: A contract is provided for both you the buyer and us the breeder to insure that we both feel comfortable with your purchase. The contract may vary with the breed. All puppies we produce here at K-9 PINES are required to carry the K-9 PINES prefix in their registered name, this will be written in on the original puppy registration certificate.

After the prefix, you are free to name the puppy what ever you choose. Please email me for a contract as they are written on individual puppies and sales.

We have a 1 yr *serious genetic warranty with our puppies. We do not warranty for anything that the puppy can catch as that is out of our control. We have a replacement policy without having to return the original puppy.

*Serious genetic defect is one that will shorten the lifespan of the puppy or deem the puppy to be a medical haphazard and require continued health care. Undescended testicle, ear not standing, coat not long enough, over bite/underbite (unless affects dogs ability to chew food properly), or the dog did not get as big as customer had hoped are NOT covered in the serious genetic warranty.

In order to get a replacement puppy, the first puppy must be euthanized (due to severe illness), or altered (not used for breeding).  All medical documentation must be mailed to K9-Pines as well the registration papers for the puppy with the issue.    The puppy will be one of *equal value.  Equal value = same color, sex, registration status.  If customer wants to get a more expensive puppy they can pay the difference and get one of those instead.

***Breeding rights: We will sell some of our puppies with full breeding rights. Breeding rights can be limited at our discretion. Your registration will reflect ‘full’ or ‘limited’ registration. Please make sure you clarify the kennel club (AKC/UKC/CKC) and type of registration (full or limited/pet only) that will be provided for the puppy/dog prior to purchase.

I am not an advocate of neutering males but do feel in some cases it is in the best interest of the family or dogs well social being to be neutered. We do not require dogs to be neutered however we do require a female to be spayed if she is not purchased for breeding.

If you want a dog for breeding you must purchase the dog with full registration. Not all dogs will be sold with full registration so please be sure to ask if you are interested in breeding.

Shipping Information

So you live in another state and driving is just not an option to get your K9 Pines puppy to you? Don’t worry we ship all the time.

I handle all arrangements. All I have to do before we seal the deal so to speak is to make sure you are close to a major airport that I can get the puppy to you.

Shipping: I am comfortable shipping a puppy or dog to you. I have done this many times and feel it is safe and helpful when it is impossible to drive to pick up puppy. In some cases the flight takes less time than a road trip and can be less stressful on puppy!! A 12 hour road trip can cause one car sick puppy, compared to a 4 hr flight.

Currently I use Delta. If another airline is needed, I have to drive 3 hours so there is an additional $150 fee for that service. I make all the shipping arrangements on our end, flight times, booking the flight etc and send you all info prior to day of shipping.

When puppy is shipped there are 3 things that must be purchased with the expense going to you, the pet buyer. This is in addition to the purchase price:

1. A medium 200 series size carrier that you get to keep and can even use for a period of time to house train your puppy. $55 for a 200 series that is large enough to use during first stages of house training.

2. A certificate of travel is required for your puppy to be able to fly. This certificate of travel is given by a licensed Veterinarian and accompanies your puppy to you. This record is for you to take to your veterinarian. $45 if under 4 months, $60 if over 4 months.

3. Lastly the airfare is also the buyers responsibility.

Due to the ever increasing prices of fuel and the airlines have also decided to cash in as well. Total cost of shipping varies from airport to airport, it can be between $285 and $325. Please note I do not charge for my time to get their travel papers from the vet, take the puppy to the airport (many times this is done very early in the morning (4 or 5 am), or to purchase the kennel at the store; this is a service I provide to you at no charge when a puppy needs to be shipped.

Please send me an email with the name of the 2 closest airports or call me and I will tell you if we can get your puppy to you prior to holding that puppy for you and get you a price quote for airfare. We have to make sure we can get him/her to you. Alaska is double the airfare as they have to use 2 different airlines to get them there. I have shipped International—China, Germany, Canada, UK, those quotes are done on a per case puppy. Sometimes North West is the only airline flying into your airport, they can be a little more expensive.

If your puppy is being shipped, 2 contracts will accompany the puppy. They will be located on the side or top of the carrier other pertinent information in a folder. One contract must be signed and returned within the week of shipment. Once the contract is received, the AKC/UKC/CKC registration (which ever is applicable) will be mailed to you. The other copy of the contract is for your records.

The registration papers will be mailed to you as soon as the contract is returned. In the event the registration papers are not back from the kennel club, we will mail them as soon as they arrive. Be sure the name on the contract is the name you want the canine registered in.

The terms and conditions will be discussed and agreed upon per puppy sale with the individual prior to the shipment of the puppy. For those having a puppy shipped, by sending payment you are agreeing to the terms of the contract so make sure you read it. If you have any questions/concerns, feel free to ask. If you are picking your puppy up, paperwork will be signed the day you take your puppy home.  If you would like the contract in advance of the puppy flying I can email it to you prior to the puppy shipping.
