Piebald PatternText Box: Wow where do I start? This is not a typical pattern in the GSD breed however since we know that recessives are for-ever and the original German Shepherds came in all coat types, colors and patterns that seeing this pattern should not really be that much of a surprise. However, seeing them in the flesh it certainly does make you step back and ponder.

CorDawn Blue is one of my most favorite female German Shepherds. She is a big blue sable and her father is Storm owned by my good friend Dawn Malcolm. CorDawn Blue’s mother is from Alice Horton (now deceased) aka Snow Cloud German Shepherds.

Ross is a solid liver that was being boarded here while he met his requirements to be shipped to his new owner/mom Patricia Tenant. He was bred by Tony Guiterez in NM. Ross arrived when he was about 10 wks old. Since he had to stay longer than the usual required time, Pat suggested I use him as a stud on one of my girls.

Being that I want to increase the bloodlines for the blue and liver German Shepherds I decided to mate Ross to CorDawn Blue to make a litter of blue/liver carriers.

On January 24, 2010 CorDawn Blue gave me a litter of 6. In that litter there are:
2 solid blacks; 1 male named Cory now residing with a great friend locally named Rachel and 1 female named Joan Jett awaiting her perfect pet home.
2 sables; 1 male named Ted Nugent he is staying with us and 1 female named Katarina, she is also staying with us.
2 piebalds; 1 black piebald female named Blackberry Pie and 1 sable piebald female named Cherry Pie, they are both staying with us.

Ross has been shipped to his Mum in the UK you can see more of him by clicking <<<HERE>>>

The parents and the puppies will have their DNA done by AKC (for parentage) and vetgen for pattern identity.

Here is Blackberry Pie at 1 day old and at 1 wk old:
